Sean is aiming to raise £5,000 for the NAS which will go towards supporting services such as the Autism Helpline, Advocacy for Education service, Befriending scheme, Parent to Parent support service and help! programme
Sean Murray from Dartford will again be revving into action. Not content with covering almost 1,700 miles on a quad bike from London to John o’ Groats and back in 2006, Sean is planning to ride approximately 3,000 miles from John o’ Groats to the Rock of Gibraltar and back to London, in aid of The National Autistic Society (NAS), the UK’s leading charity for people affected by autism (from 3rd January 2008).
The exciting adventure, called ‘Quadwaydown’, will see Sean burn rubber on his Yamaha Raptor 700R GYTR SE quad bike. The daring dad will also enjoy some four-wheeled fun when he stops off at the NAS head office in London en route to Gibraltar where he will be cheered on by NAS staff.

Sean chose to put his foot down again for the NAS, not only because autism is much more common than most people think, with around 1 in 100 people having the condition in the UK today, but also because his nine year old son Liam, has autism.
Sean said: “The NAS has really helped my family so I was really keen to take part in another quad bike challenge to show my appreciation. Having completed a challenge within the UK I felt it was time to travel further afield! The event is my way of raising awareness of autism which is a serious, lifelong and disabling condition. I’m so pleased that my fundraising will help people with autism receive the right support from the NAS. It’ll be hard work riding in the winter but I have trained hard and am really looking forward to it.”
